Milan Junior Camp 2015: Asiago Mountain Plateu, Alps

In 2015 Sporteventi has organized two dates for the Milan Junior Camps of Asiago Mountain Plateau.

  • From 5th to 11th of July – AC Milan Supervisor: Pierino Prati
  • From 19th to 25th of July – AC Milan Supervisor: Walter De Vecchi

We will now briefly describe locations, structures and attractions that Asiago Plateau offers for the free time.

Known as the “Plateau of the Seven Districts” and also native place of the writer Mario Rigoni Stern, Asiago Plateau is the largest plateau in Europe (about 1000 meters above sea level). It is situated between the Padan Plain and Valsugana mountains (Trentino), in the province of Vicenza, two hours far by car from Venice and Garda Lake, and half an hour from Vicenza and an hour and a half from Verona.

The Milan Camp takes place in Gallio (1085 meter above sea level), hosted in the wonderful Hotel Gaarten, a 4 stars hotel, with swimming pool, spa and solarium. Gallio is situated only 2 km far from Asiago. In other words, a fascinating and prestigious location with a skilled staff.

Asiago Plateau can be easily reached from the airports of Venice (130 km), Treviso (100 km) and Verona (150km).

This Plateau is a well-know summer and winter tourist area. During the summer it receives you in all its splendor offering an unlimited number of amusement opportunities, from walks in direct contact with nature to horse ridings in the woods, from pirouette in the ice skating stadium to the exaltation of a sail flight in the airport of Asiago, from swims in indoor swimming pools to passionate tennis matches, from challenges in the precious green (18 holes) to game fishing, from nordic walking to free-climbing, from guided tours to the Asiago Astronomical and Astrophysical Observatory, or to many other museums. Moreover we mustn’t forget the bike that finds here its ideal environment: lots of mule tracks, disposed by the First World War, give the mountain bike lovers the possibility not only to discover districts and towns, but also to clamber the two thousand meters where the traces of the big conflict are still visible.

You must visit the “Piana di Marcésina”, a wide plain that is situated in the North-East of the Plateau and that is known as “Finland of Italy” for its beauty and record temperatures that are registered during the winter.

Along the main street in Asiago you can find many shops that sell high fashion and typical products which invite tourists every day to go shopping.
